I was abandoned, left by myself
There was nobody I could trust
To my right and to my left
Watching the darkness engulf
My being and ground me to dust

I reached out and cried
For someone to save me
Someone passed by
Then turned to hide
As my eyes pleaded with he

The things that I had trusted
Had all crumbled to the ground
And now alone I staggered
Forward and onward I struggled
But to nowhere, go I could

Then He lifted me up
High from the dirt
With Him I supped
He filled my cup
And healed me of my hurts
