They come and go
Back to and fro
You can’t control it
Are near and far
As the distant star
But still you wish for it

To comfort when hurt
To heal when burnt
To mend when broken
To be beside when lonely
To protect, and surely
To be there to listen

Although perfect they’re far from it
Sometimes wrong, sometimes cheat
They build you up the best they can
When you sometimes your soul make bare
They sometimes hurt, but because they care
They walk with you hand in hand

Sometimes you’re hesitant
Or even unconfident
How much faith you should
Place in them, but remember
For now and forever
They did do the best they could

Friends are there
Because they care
